Aesthetic composite fillings
We usually offer this from our services for those who struggle with tooth decay, or if the goal is the aesthetic and functional restoration of the tooth damage caused by some tooth related trauma. The main reason for the appearance of tooth decay is usually the improper oral hygiene habits. Most often, plaque accumulates in the dimples of the molars or the edge of the gingiva, which leads to decay with the poor oral hygiene. Tooth decay in case of children a more rapid problem. Often it develops unnoticed, as the enamel appears intact during the check-ups. In this case, we talk about hidden cavity and an incorrect diagnosis can only be prevented by making high-quality X-rays, as well as with thorough check-ups. It is recommended to have a treatment as soon as possible on the decayed tooth in order to prevent the damage of the nerve chamber and the root.
Aesthetic fillings match the colour of the teeth and are hardened by light. They can be loaded immediately. They provide solution for minor or moderate tooth decays.
Aesthetic fillings are high-quality composite fillings with a high resistance to abrasion. They are firmed by a polymer light emitting specific wavelengths of light
The built-up composite is suitable as a sealant, for fillings or preventive fillings, but also serve as an appropriate solution to replace tooth edges or for tooth cervical fillings.
Composite fillings
Aesthetic fillings are made under local anaesthesia. The shade guide helps us determine your original tooth colour so that we can create a colour shade for the fillings which matches the original. Often during the creation of an aesthetic filling, several colour shades are used in each layer so that it harmonizes the surface of the adjacent teeth as much as possible.
Then the decay is removed, a cavity is formed, the teeth are dried and relining and “bond” materials are applied in order to facilitate the polymerization of the filling material. Then the tooth is built-up with some filling material.
In some cases the healthy tooth material must also be touched to a minimum extent in order to enable successful filling anchorage, but in any case it is a very small quantity. In the last phase of the treatment, polymerization is accomplished (using photo polymerization light), followed by finishing and finally the treatment ends with polishing.
